Come Back to the Ground of Your Life.
Meditation, mindfulness, and inner work. Loosen perfectionism, live with presence.
I teach meditation from Zen and Insight traditions, blended with transpersonal psychology.
Meditation is not an escape (although I tried that for a while). It’s a way of meeting the messy, complicated, creative business of being human.
My work is for people who want to practice with honesty, curiosity, and a little humour — not to become perfect, but to become more themselves. It’s about meeting life as it is, with honesty, curiosity, and presence.
ABOUT
My meditation practice began with Thich Nhat Hanh and the monastic community at Plum Village, France, followed by many retreats at Deer Park Meditation Center, California and Nap Luu Monastery in Australia.
I’m an emerging teaching in the Insight (Vipassana) tradition under the mentorship of Subhana Barzaghi, a senior student of Christopher Titmuss, through the Insight Meditation Institute of Australia.
I studied to teach meditation and mindfulness with Julian Daizan Skinner Roshi through his school Zenways, UK. I’ve been a resident at the Zen Center of Los Angeles and am a student in the Diamond Sangha tradition in Australia under the guidance of Allan Marett Roshi.
My workshops and teachings are also influenced by my study of transpersonal psychology and narrative therapy. I bring together ancient wisdom and contemporary thought on self, neuroscience and psychology.
As an actor, screenwriter and filmmaker I work with actors, writers, directors and other creatives. We work to regain trust in yourself, to change your relationship with your inner critic, and to redefine your work as a place to come from rather than s painful striving for external recognition.
PATHWAYS
1:1 Coaching & Mentoring: Develop a personal meditation practice, pursue questions about creative and spiritual direction.
We can also combine the work with creative coaching – healing your relationship with the inner critic, your inner relationship to your work and why you do what you do.
Contact me if you’d like to talk about these options.
If you’re an actor, writer, director, any type of artist and creative, we can also talk about how this applies specifically to your creative work and life.
